3 Steps to Perfecting Your Time Management

The older you get, the more stuff you have to do, and the less time you have to do it. Not only that, but in the real estate business you have so many things competing for your attention, it’s tricky to figure out how to prioritize your time and attention.

We get it! Imagine if you were able to check off those tasks on your to-do list you’ve been needing to get done for days? Or finally make those calls? Whatever it is, there’s no denying time management is hard. Here at BTG, we’ve perfected a strategy that will help you make the most of your work week.

Here it is:

  1. Change your mindset. Often times, we see our schedule as a laundry list of tasks that have yet to be crossed off… and then what? We panic. Instead, ask yourself, “How can I plan for success? What can I do right now to start making steps towards completion?”
  2. Your calendar is your best friend. As a realtor, you calender is a vital piece of your business and it’s important that you are aware of everything that is inside of it, and everything that is not. If it is not in your calendar, then it doesn’t exist. At BTG, we teach our agents something called time-blocking. This has been one of the most effective tools for us because it gives an even closer look into our daily schedule.(Interested in learning about time-blocking? We want to teach you. 3. Maximize your hours. Many times, the problem is not having not enough hours, it’s not maximizing the hours that you do have. Sometimes, you don’t even realize what your time is being wasted on. A few minutes here and a few minutes there add up to being a lot of wasted time. Become more intentional with your day. Once you know where each hour (or even each minute) is going, you’ll quickly see what you could be doing differently.
